Last year, the LBA Fishing Challenge hit a quarter of a century, 25 years, a silver anniversary. This year, we are looking forward to hosting another amazing fishing challenge.
A survival of the fittest (both fish and fishermen), thousands of memories, invaluable experiences, and good times had by all. No matter which way you spin it and how old you when you first participated, it is what it is – a memory and an experience.
As we celebrate the 26th anniversary of the Latin Builders Association® (LBA) Fishing Challenge, let us take a trip down memory lane to provide a glimpse into the first ever tournament in 1986. The LBA traveled to the Bahamas to Bimini and docked at the Big Game.
Unloading the boat was a tedious task, as it still is today, but all were eager to start the festivities. That’s the end of that story for now because what happened next and throughout the first ever LBA Fishing Tournament is remembered through tales told and experiences had by those in attendance; you had to be there to understand.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, the Latin Builders Association® will dock at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. Again, those in attendance will unload their boat and gear up for a few days of fishing and fun. Memories will be made, lifelong friendships will continue to build in strength, new friendships will be made, and we will be telling the same stories 25 years from now when we celebrate our 50th anniversary, but there is something to say about experiencing it yourself. The cliché is true, “a picture is worth a thousand words” (Napoleon Bonaparte), but memories are priceless.
“Nothing ever becomes real until it is experienced.” -- John Keats
